BCH achieves level one PCI DSS Version 4

BCH is pleased to share we have recently completed and passed a full level one PCI DSS 4 externally audited assessment, hitting all the new requirements for version 4, including those which are still in their best practice phase.

PCI has certainly evolved from when BCH began, with this new compliance level offering even more challenging aspects that needed to be implemented.

Chris Johnson, CISO at BCH said, “There was a lot of work involved in version 4; certain aspects took a lot of time and some (such as scoping), will need even more evidence prior to the next assessment. This is why we went to the extra effort ahead of the assessment to ensure we knew we were on the right track and were ready for when all the requirements come into full force.”

PCI compliance is complex, consisting of 12 regulations and over 200 individual requirements. Navigating this for your business can feel like a minefield. Companies must take the time to fulfill various requirement levels, such as assigning roles and responsibilities that are clear and understood, and ensuring that scoping reviews are more structured.

This does require a lot of work, but BCH is audited annually against the latest and ongoing changes in PCI-DSS regulations. The PCI programme is a core part of business operations, and strongly influences our professional ethos.

All this work means we’ve taken the pain out of compliance for our customers,” adds Chris. “We can handle their credit and debit card transactions, with them safe in the knowledge that we've done and, are doing, all we can to protect them and their clients.”

Each year, BCH handles hundreds of millions of pounds in transactions for our customers. Whether your organisation processes one card payment or one million, compliance with PCI DSS is essential. These regulations are designed to keep payment card information secure

and prevent fraud. However, achieving compliance isn’t straightforward, so it’s important to partner with a company that can provide the best support.
