Streaming is a very common, but complex use of IVR. It enables many callers to simultaneously listen to the same information. It provides a means of broadcasting information to potentially huge audiences in a cost effective and efficient manner. This information could be anything from a weather report to a horse racing commentary.
Using VoIP, MP3 and Windows Media services, it is possible to stream a Windows media stream to individual IVR callers, so that a single MP3 stream can be rendered and played on hundreds of lines at the same time.
Winmil also allows the reverse to happen, enabling a recording that is being made on Winmil (for example, a live conversation) to be streamed to an MP3 device, such as Winamp, to a PC, or elsewhere. At BCH we can offer a packaged version of this service to allow managers of a live recording service to listen to conversations in progress via an easy to operate online User Interface.
